Despite people saying that Avengers Age of Ultron was not as well received as the first Avengers, and DC pretty taking over most Comic Con 2016 conversation with their two trailers, Marvel is still managing to keep a steady buzz going about their properties. We both can’t wait to see what they’ll do next and we’re wonder what’s going to be the movie that’s finally the pin the their success bubble. Seems like every day since San Diego Comic Con wrapped up Marvel has made some kind of announcement. Today they’ve sent out a press release stating that Avengers Infinity War will no longer be two movies. (Only six days after DC announced that Justice League will no longer be two parts. Go figure.)
According to every geek news channel known to the Internet Avengers Infinity War will be a self-contained movie and the forth Avengers movie will take another direction. I wish it would be Secret Invasion, but because Fox owns the Fantastic Four the whole Skull thing is still up in the air. (The Chitari will never be at thing, Marvel. They are just a bunch of red-shirt henchmen fodder. We want fucking Skrulls. Make that happen.) My conflict is that even the worse MCU movie is better than most of what everyone else is putting out there but it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on with so much limited information draped over shiny teases and trailers. Right now comic based movies, especially Marvel and DC movies, have a lot more advantages than they ever did before. Not to mention you have to seriously consider that Marvel just made Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy household names, so they’ve still got truckloads of trust behind whatever they do At least until the pin comes balloon popping.
