The Flash movie has signed Billy Crudup to play Barry Allen’s father in the upcoming Flash movies. This will mark Billy Crudup’s 2nd DC movies since he had the courage to show sausage throughout Watchmen. This also marks the 2nd times he worked with Ezra Miller since the Standford Experiment. Like the successful (and most likely better) WB show Barry’s father will be Dr. Henry Miller (because that was his name in the comics – what a twist) I have not made it a secret that I have no faith in DC movies. I’m a comic geek and glad that we live in an era wher they are so successful that we have major movies stars actually campaigning to play in one – any one. But DC/Warner refuses to give up on the idea that their successful Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen were successful way back in the 1980’s and despite the fact that both works are considered classics they cannot keep making them the theme of every single thing they do forever. They’ve hire Geoff John’s to take control of the movies, which may or may not be hopeful and might be something they should have done in the first place. However I was one of the few people who did not cream their pants over the five minute plus teaser they showed with Bruce Wayne going from place to place gathering the few Justice League members they are going to have in the Justice League movie. Sure Khal Drogo looked halfway decent as a Peter David version of Aquaman, but he also looked cool as a halfway decent Conan and look how that turned out. I wish the Justice League and Flash and Wonder Woman luck but I’d be lying if I did say maybe they should have asked Marvel for some help.
