This just in (I’ve always wanted to say that) – LucasFilms has announced that Donald Glover has been cast to play young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Hans Solo movie. The role was originally played by Colt 45 shill Billy Dee Williams who started out as the administrator of Cloud City and ended things as a Rebel Alliance general. This makes sense because it was obvious from the Empire Strikes Back that Han and Lando knew each other from before and their relationship did revolve around the Millennial Falcon. According to the press release from LucasFilms (or Disney Studios these days):
“These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
The Han Solo movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, directors of the extremely successful Lego Movie, and written by veteran Star War writer Lawrence Kasdan. Donald Glover is currently enjoying the success of his FX show “Atlanta” (which I don’t watch because they use the n-word like assholes) and was once part of a minor online campaign to play Spider-Man. (Well, this is kinda-sorta close to that.) He’s also a fan favorite from his role as Troy Barnes in Community.
The Han Solo movie is slated to be release in 2018, no actual date has been announced so far.
