Image Comics Invincible is coming to the big screen. After the success of AMC’s Preacher, having Seth Rogan and Even Goldberg on board to bring Image Comics Invincible to the big screen might be a good thing. This news come from the Hollywood Reporter. Seth Rogan and Even Goldberg are part of the team adapting Image Comic’s Invisible into a movie. There is no word on casting or script yet. Image Comic’s Invincible is written and created by the Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman. Invincible tells the story of Mark Grayson son of the most powerful super-hero in this world called Omni-Man (aka Nolan Grayson). As of this writing Invincible remains an ongoing series currently at issue #130. Invincible follows Mark’s adventure through this world as he learns about his powers and his place in the super-hero community. Invincible turns old tropes on their ear as we meet Mark’s family, friends and the wider universe around him.
Image Comics Invincible turns several comic tropes on their heads. It’s a comic that has something for everyone. This is why Image Comics Invincible stays popular. Invincible is also surprisingly mature as it’s extremely violent. When reading Invincible you are rewarded with well thought out characters, excellent callbacks with plenty of twists and turns. There is no word yet if Robert Kirkman will actually involved. Kirkman constantly works close with projects that has his name attached to them. I’m hoping Rogan and Goldberg adapt this comic the same way they did Preacher. Image Comics Invincible a really fun addition to the increasing variety of genre comic movies. It would only add to the growing list of good super hero movies and TV. I’m personally hoping a movie adaptation of Image Comics Invincible happens. It will be interesting to see who they’ll cast Mark and Omni-Man.
