Joss Whedon Returns to TV Sci Fi For HBO with The Nevers

On Friday, July 13, 2018 HBO announced that Joss Whedon returns to Sci-Fi wth a new series called “The Nevers.” This will mark Joss Whedon’s return to TV but with the freedom of paid cable. According to the reports Joss Whedon will produce, be the showrunner, writer, and director of the new show. What’s it about? Well, according to HBO it’s “an epic science-fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities.” Aside from sounding like “Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter” by Theodora Goss, but I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.  The important thing is that Joss Whedon returns to what he knows best, TV, with the freedom for cable to do pretty much what he wants.  Knowing Joss the Nevers will probably be Justice League Victorian style or something like that. One thing for sure, it’s Joss Whedon in a female lead series on HBO, so it should at least be interesting.
