The Hollywood Report just dropped the news that Netflix Canceled Sense8, the highly imaginative and stylized show by Lana and Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski. On top of all the other bad things happening all over the world, this news just adds to the suck. Sense8 was one of my favorite shows (as you can tell in my reviews) because it was fresh and imaginative. The story revolves around a set of human being called “Sensates” who are in such perfect communication with each other they can see and feel anything their cluster feels. The Sensates can also share each other’s experience, knowledge and abilities from anywhere in the world. Such humans are hunted by normals who fear they might be a threat to the existence of the rest of humanity. After 23 episodes of one of the freshest shows on Netflix Sense8 comes to an end.
Sense8 was shot in 16 cities and 13 countries, had a very large cast and was a show inclusive by the nature of it’s story and themes. The final show of the second season left us with a hell of a cliffhanger. The news that Netflix canceled Sense8 means we most likely won’t see what happens next. I’m going to miss this show and somehow a re-watch will feel that much more cheap bcause the story wasn’t finish and Sense8 went before it’s time.
